Why RSPB?

1939 - 2024

Dad was a keen birdwatcher, an interest he shared with his wife Wendy. He would often go on birdwatching holidays and weekends. He was part of the St Marys birdwatching group when that was running and in later years was the publicity officer for his local RSPB group. He knew loads of the birds and their songs and could often identify them. When he was at his daughters house in Reading, he loved watching the kites and learning the pee-wee noise, as they often circled overhead. As a gardener, he had a Robin who knew when Dad was outside, it was a good time to appear as there would soon be worms to eat! He had plenty of birdfeeders in his garden and kept a watchful eye for the squirrels who would try and steal the nuts meant for the birds! He'd go outside quickly to scare them away. It therefore seemed appropriate that we should ask for donations to the RSPB in his memory.
